MANUFACTURING OF JUTE BAGS
We get small jute bags (capacity of 120g of rice) manufactured from women who stay in the slums of Chennai. These women are trained to stitch by an NGO - Siragu. This way we help in the development and empowerment of women.
DISTRIBUTION OF JUTE BAGS
The Jute Bags that are manufactured, are distributed among the students of the school with the help of the social/interact club of the school
COLLECTION OF RICE
The students are asked to fill up the jute bags and bring it fortnightly. The rice collected is emptied from the jute bags into containers with the help of school volunteers.
DISTRIBUTION OF RICE
The rice that is collected, is then distributed to an orphanage/old age home of the school's choice.
